Wyndham ownership
Getting out of a Wyndham timeshare
Start with the contract, the company and the association. Not with an exit pitch that wants money before it tells you what it can actually do.

The short answer
First identify what you own. A deeded Fairfield Glade week caught in the resort's closure is not the same thing as a Club Wyndham points contract, a WorldMark interest, or a purchase signed last week. They can carry different documents, debts and exit routes.
If the purchase is recent, read the cancellation instructions and deadline in the contract now. Otherwise, begin with the company or association that controls the ownership. Club Wyndham currently sends owners to Wyndham Cares. Fairfield Glade deeded owners also have a separate route on Wyndham's resort-closure page. 2 1
Do that before paying a company that promises to cancel the contract for you. The Federal Trade Commission says to contact the timeshare company directly first and warns about guaranteed results, large advance fees and instructions to stop paying. 3
Three situations that should not be mixed together
A purchase signed recently
Look for a cancellation or rescission section in the contract and public offering papers. The deadline and delivery method may come from the contract or the law that governs the sale. There is no safe universal number of days to print here. Follow the contract's stated method. The FTC also recommends certified mail with a return receipt so you have a delivery record. 3
A deeded Fairfield Glade interest in the closure process
Club Wyndham's current resort-portfolio page lists Fairfield Glade among the resorts whose associations voted to cease operations at the end of 2025. It says deeded owners should have received communication from their association and Club Wyndham, and it currently links a Fairfield Glade form for owners who want their position reviewed. 1
The same page describes two possible directions. An owner may ask to review a swap into Club Wyndham Access. An owner who does not want retention options can choose to receive later information about net proceeds from the property sale, distributed according to the ownership interest and subject to the association process. Each resort moves on its own timetable. Use the current Wyndham page rather than an old copied form link.
Another Club Wyndham ownership
Club Wyndham lists Wyndham Cares at 866-434-9046, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern. It describes the service as free and lists Certified Exit and featured resellers among the routes its staff can discuss. 2
That is a starting point, not a guaranteed release. The public page does not give one eligibility rule for every deed, points contract, loan and fee status. Ask what applies to the exact account and request the answer in writing.
The call sheet
Put the papers beside you before you call. The point is to leave with a written route, not a vague promise that someone will look into it.
Identify the ownership
- Names of every legal owner
- Contract and account numbers
- Contracting company and home resort
- Deeded week, points, trust interest or another form
- Purchase and upgrade dates, and the state where each was signed
- Current loan balance, if any
- Maintenance-fee balance and account status
- Every association, closure, swap or sale notice received
Ask for written answers
- What is the exact name of the program available to this account?
- Is there a fee, payment, new contract or purchase attached to it?
- Does the loan or fee status change eligibility?
- Is the route a cancellation, surrender, repurchase, resale, swap or association sale?
- What documents must every owner sign?
- What deadlines apply, and what proves they were met?
- What remains owed while the request is pending?
- When is the release final, and what written document proves it?
The exit-pitch test
The FTC's warning signs are practical: an unsolicited approach, a guarantee that the contract will be cancelled, a large fee before work begins, or an instruction to stop paying the loan or maintenance fees. 3
A third party may charge you to make the same first call you can make yourself. If the problem has become a dispute about debt, title, credit reporting, incapacity, inheritance or what the salesperson promised, take the documents to an independent lawyer licensed where the matter belongs. Do not let a lead form choose one for you.
Unbrochure does not rank exit companies, accept referral fees, sell owner leads or review individual contracts. That makes this page less exciting and much less expensive to trust.
What Fairfield Glade's closure does not answer
The official closure page establishes that Fairfield Glade's deeded inventory is in an association sale process and that Wyndham is still routing owners through a Fairfield Glade interest form. It does not say that every broader Club Wyndham contract, points obligation or loan disappeared when guests stopped checking in.
Keep the nouns straight. A resort can close. An association can sell its property. A deeded owner can be offered a swap or later sale proceeds. A points contract can have its own obligations. Only the documents and a written response tied to the account show which of those sentences belongs to you.
Questions people ask first
- Where should I start if I want out of a Club Wyndham timeshare?
- Identify exactly what you own, then contact the company or association that controls it. Club Wyndham currently routes owners to Wyndham Cares. A deeded Fairfield Glade interest in the resort-closure process has a separate association path described on Wyndham’s resort-portfolio page.
- Is Wyndham Cares free?
- Club Wyndham describes Wyndham Cares as a free service. Its public page does not promise that every ownership qualifies for release, repurchase or resale, so ask for the account-specific options in writing.
- Did the Fairfield Glade resort closure cancel my Wyndham contract?
- The closure does not answer that question by itself. Wyndham’s current page describes a process for deeded Fairfield Glade interests, including a possible Club Wyndham Access swap or later sale proceeds. Your contract, ownership type and written association or Wyndham response determine what applies to you.
- Should I stop paying while an exit company works on my case?
- Do not act on that instruction from an exit pitch. The FTC lists instructions to stop paying a mortgage or fees as a warning sign. Get contract-specific advice from an independent lawyer before taking an action that can affect debt, title or credit.
