The money comes from one place. Someone reads a few of these pages, decides the guide is worth $29, and buys one. That's the whole business model, and it's meant to be small enough to explain in a sentence.

Search the name of the place and you get a dreamy photograph of a golf course at seven in the morning, mist still sitting on it, waiting for you and your best stroke. Whoever paid for that photograph profits the day you move there, and so does most everyone else writing about the place. None of which is fraud. The course really does look like that in the morning, and a fair amount of the writing around it is genuinely useful.

What gets left out, though, is always the same sort of thing. No one in that arrangement gets paid to open with an assessment increase, or a fee that lands at closing, or how far it is to a cardiologist. None of that sells a house. It starts to matter about a month after you've bought one.

This site starts there instead, and takes no money from anyone who would rather it didn't.

A person opened the source on that date and checked it against this page. That's the whole promise.

The figure may have moved since. The date tells you how long ago anyone looked.

Data pages carry a changelog too, including the times a figure here turned out to be wrong.

Every load-bearing number is footnoted to a source you can open: the 2025 Cumberland County community health needs assessment, local reporting on the Community Club budget, published state and federal data.

A figure that was worked out rather than reported shows its arithmetic. A figure that's missing carries a pink mark saying what's needed and who would know. The marks stay up until the gap is filled.

If something here is wrong, write to corrections@unbrochure.com and say which page and which figure. It goes in the corrections log, with what the page said before and what it says now. Nothing gets quietly edited.

That goes for the Community Club too. If they're right, the correction runs with their name on it.

Not an argument against retiring here, either. Plenty of people will read every page of this and buy a house at the Glade anyway, and good for them. The only difference is that they'll have gone in knowing the figures.
